Mostar - Old bridge UNESCO World Heritage

 

Mostar is a city in Bosnia and Herzegovina, economic and cultural center. Located at the foot of the slopes of the mountains Velež, Hum and Čabulja, in the Neretva River valley at an altitude of 60-80 m. The climate is mild mediterranean, with the emphasis that the summers are extremely hot and long. When speaking of Mostar, it is impossible not to mention the Old Bridge and the Neretva. In addition to the beautiful river Neretva through Mostar passes and river Radobolja.

Old Bridge, one of the beauties of the city, the bridge over the Neretva River. He is a symbol of the city of Mostar which was built back in 1566. This is the arch construction that connects the left and right side of the Neretva River. The arch is 28.7 m and a height of 21 m which depends from the summer level of the river. From him are held high altitude jumps in July each year. It is inscribed on the World Heritage List by UNESCO in 2005.
